What is the best installation method for a rubber gym flooring?

A full spread glue-down is the best option for providing a secure and sturdy installation, which minimizes the amount of shifting with your new rubber flooring. Also, performance with weights and equipment vastly improves due to the rubber being more stable compared to a floating or double-face tape installation.

What thickness should someone choose?

We recommend a minimum rubber thickness of 3/8 inches because it will hold up for general exercises and weight lifting. If you need something more heavy duty you can opt for 1/2-inch rubber flooring, which generally comes in the same color selections as the 3/8-inch option. A quality installation is one of the main factors in getting the best performance out of a rubber floor.

Can someone install rubber flooring themselves?

Yes, installing rubber flooring can be a DIY-friendly project. For DIY projects, it may be easier to use a loose lay or double face tape (Made for rubber). If you are using rolled rubber flooring, keep in mind they are very heavy and you may need more than one person to unload and fit the rubber correctly. For your DIY project, all you really need is a quality knife with a sharp blade to make your cuts. Try to keep your lines as straight as possible. For extra ease, there are interlocking tiles that you can purchase as well which aren't as aesthetic however they perform great.
